That depends on your soil. If the pH is high (alkali), acidifying the soil may aid in water infiltration and leaching. If the soil is lower (<7.5), gypsum can be used to improve infiltration and leach salt. If you are on heavier soil, the addition of gypsum usually improves inaittrflion. Hope that helps!
